Ex Phelps collection. Robert A Phelps received his Bachelor Degree at the University in Lima Peru and his masters at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College. He taught Spanish and Spanish history in Pueblo Colorado. His interest with Native American material began in the 1960-70s and during his life he collected a large number of weavings, pottery and baskets. He was known to be very generous with his art, gifting many pieces to friends and relatives.
