Deaccessed from the Glenbow Museum in Alberta, Canada. The Glenbow museum boasts over a million artifacts and some 28,000 works of art in its vast collections and is one of the largest museums in Canada. Original Glenbow Museum inventory number is on the bottom of the pottery tray, which reads A1-310. The artist,Clara, is the daughter of Pablita Chavarria (1914-1979) of Santa Clara Pueblo and her sister is Millie Chavarria also a noted potter. The piece is signed on bottom in pencil. The black on black design incorporates cloud, rain, kiva steps and stylized bear paw design. Both braided handles intact, the piece is in very good condition. From an Arizona collection.
