"This bronze depicts a capable young woman on horseback, reining her horse to a halt as she briefly looks back at the ground she has covered. Her gesture implies resolve and determination. The design of horse and rider in the wind suggests a free spirit; the spirit of wonder and endless possibilities that typifies youth. The Badger Clark poem Ive used for the title of this bronze expresses in words what I envisioned in my sculpture." - Deborah Copenhaver-Fellows, NSS |
