From the Hollis Randall Williford (1940 - 2007), sculptor, collection. Published in "Glass Plates and Wagon Ruts: Images of the Southwest by Lisle Updike and William Pennington" by H. Jackson Clark, page 175. Same man is shown on page 180. Caption reads "One of Pennington's favorite poses. Will Evans said, "the simple dignity of this old man tells a story of himself and his people, proud of themselves and their culture, and strong enough to withstand the changes of time."
