From the Hollis Randall Williford (1940 - 2007), sculptor, collection. Published in "Glass Plates and Wagon Ruts: Images of the Southwest by Lisle Updike and William Pennington" by H. Jackson Clark, page 175 and 180. Page 175 shows Pennington's title as "Dreaming by the Firelight" Page 180 shows Clark's title as "In the Glow of the Campfire" Caption reads "One of Pennington's favorite poses. Will Evans said, "the simple dignity of this old man tells a story of himself and his people, proud of themselves and their culture, and strong enough to withstand the changes of time."
