The reverence and power expressed in these drawings suggest that early man had a spiritual connection with the subjects. On the Reindeer Moon is inspired by a cave-rendering of the great herds o caribou that would descend from the mountain meadows to lower pastures in the autumnal months. It was a time a great hunts ? early man depended on caribou for food and clothing ? and even greater magic.
